Sun May 1 Eggs: 13 Not feeling well did not go to Community Meeting. A very long day.

Mon May 2 Pleasant Eggs: 16 Got up early, done my washing, cooked corned beef, potatoes, rice. Split wood.

Tue May 3 Eggs: 9 Split wood. went up to Aunt Mary E. Hoyt's and Aunt Hannah Smith. Bag of oats, $1.65, Bran $2.00, Green paint $.45, Sugar $.45

Wed May 4 Eggs: 15 Worked in house. Had fresh pork fried. Leonard got bed in West Room. Dr. A. D. Ayer died this morn age 71.

Thu May 5 Wind N.E., rainy, dark, chilly day. Eggs: 17

Fri May 6 Cold, Wind N.E., rainy Started fire dining room. Paid telephone bill.

Sat May 7 Cold, cloudy Eggs: 16 House work. Split wood. Nathan called. Mrs. Tucker called. Her letter from F. B. Meigs. Letter from Josie. Sold asparagus $.60, Eggs 5 doz $1.50, 3 lbs. meat Rib $.90.

Sun May 8 Eggs: 10 Long, long day Funeral of Bro. A. D. Ayer.

Mon May 9 Pleasant Eggs:17 Done heavy washing, 2 pr. pants, 2 pr. overalls, 3 pr. stockings, 3 towels, 4 handkerchiefs, etc.

Tue May 10 Eggs:15 Aunt Mary came down. made pies, cake, rice pudding. Got pig shoulder 6 lbs. $.18 per lb. $1.08.

Wed May 11 Clear, cold. Eggs: 15 Wrote letter to Ed. W. Buck 9181 South Chicago Ave, South Chicago, Ill. and missed mail. Boiled piece of pig shoulder. Done no work. Mrs. called in evening.

Thu May 12 E cold Eggs:14 Sprouted 1 bushel potatoes, wrote letter to W. T. Dudley, Broad Street, Guilford. Letter from F. B. Meigs doing well. N. D. Meigs called.

Fri May 13 E., Rain in night, Come off pleasant Mrs. G. B. Hull called, went to cemetery with her. Lot looked good. Smith said he had mowed it 3 times this year. got to sleep. Dropped my glasses. Got up, stepped on them, broke them so no good.

Sat May 14 S.E., Rain in night, come off at noon Eggs: 14 Worked in house. Boiled junk of beef. Sold 3 lbs. asparagus $.60. Got letter from Capt. F.B. Scranton. Made call on George Whedon. Met Mrs. Maud Watrous also Mr. Bush 70 years. Minstrel show.

Sun May 15 Warm., pleasant Eggs: 16 Long day for me. I called on Aunt Hannah and Mrs. Scranton. Went to see Sister Mary but found no admioron(?). Saw Mr. and Mrs. A Beers and Mrs. Willard.

Mon May 16 cloudy, come off pleasant Eggs: 15 Worked in house till 2 o'clock. Good block wood $3.50 25 feet Paid May 18th. I put it in wood house. Letter from Mary. 

Tue May 17 Pleasant Eggs: 15 Josie got home. I did my washing this morning.

Wed May 18 Pleasant Eggs: 13 Josie did a big washing today as the trunks came. Josie went to Guilford. I put 4 hens to set and shut up 7 others. sold 2 lbs. asparagus $.40. Paid wood bill.

Thu May 19 Pleasant Eggs: 26 Did not do much. Got grass for cow. Leonard mowed lawns, green chaps cut Blue weed. Got letter from C.W.Buell.

Fri May 20 Pleasant Eggs: 13 Sprouted potatoes. Aunt Mary Hoyt came down. I chatted all afternoon. F.B. Meigs brought home. Stopped to see me. Ernie came with him. Had auto. Josie went to Judd's Hill. Blue chaps ending(?)

Sat May 21 Pleasant Eggs: 13 Charles E. Scranton died last night. Did very little work to day. Sold 1 lb. asparagus $.20. Blue weed chaps on hand. N.D. Meigs got out manure on to my garden. Josie went to Guilford. Killed Plymouth rock hen.

Sun May 22 Pleasant Eggs: 15 I do feel one day older than yesterday. Had pot pie for dinner. Nathan brought me a selling of eggs. Blue weeds on deck.

Mon May 23 Cloudy Eggs: 11 Garden plowed and harrowed $3.00 paid. Sprouted potatoes. F.B. Meigs called with 4 dozen eggs. We set 4 hens on 55 eggs. Sold calf weighed 200 lbs. $.14 lb, $28.00. (55 days old) Milked Bossy.

Tue May 24 Pleasant Eggs: 14 Sprout potatoes. Went to cemetery Charles Scranton buried.

Wed May 25 Cloudy, rainy Eggs: 11 Bossy behaved very vile. I do not feel well as usual, feel rather numb, hands and fingers asleep and stiff. Some gas in stomach. Sold 4 bushels potatoes at $.50 per bushel $2.00. Josie got galvanized wash tub $1.15. 

Thu May 25 Pleasant, cool morn, warm eve Eggs: 12 Work at barn, throwed out manure, fixed swing partition. Josie went to Guilford. Got check cashed. Paid town tax $21.54

Fri May 27 Pleasant Eggs: 11 100 lb. bag phosphate, J.D. Kelsey $2,25 paid Worked in garden, Leonard helped Josie also. Got in beets, Peas two kinds, Gradius and Telephone. Josie set out lettuce. Planted cucumbers.

Sat May 28 Hot weather to day Eggs: 9 Leonard and I planted Eureka potatoes. went to Judd's Hill. Put sweet corn to soak.

 Sun May 29 Pleasant Eggs: 9 Went to Hammonasset Cemetery with Walter Wilcox. Memorial for soldiers.

Mon May 30 Pleasant Eggs: 13 Planted sweet corn put hen manure in hills. F.B. Meigs put his black heifer with Bossy to pasture. Went to dinner with American Legion who now have charge of Memorial Day services. F.B. Scranton and wife left for Boston 2:51 PM.

Tue May 31 Pleasant, hot Eggs: 11 Planted corn, potatoes , pumpkins, squashes and worked hard til 5 PM. Tired out.
