Sunday August 16

Quebec City

Crossed the St. Lawrence on the ferry at Levis(sp?) and ate dinner in Quebec at Hotel Manhattan.

Did the city in the heat of the afternoon in a sight-seeing bus.  The following are a few of the sights which I can recall tonight:

Chateau Frontenac—largest Hotel in Canada built on the sight of Champlain’s home, the  old city wall and cannon, General Montcalm‘s home built in 17—(  page torn numbers missing),  Clothesline Alley—narrowest street in North America, a church patterned after St. Peter’s in Rome, and St. Charles Ocean—a river where the tide rises very rapidly.
