229.08.b.jpg     The Rockland School still stands at the intersection of County Road and Route 79 in North Madison. It now serves as home. It was the last of Madison's district schools continuing in use when Hand Consolidated school opened in 1922. The Town felt that it was too far to transport Rockland children the new school. This was the second school building in Rockland.
