| 173.16b.a.jpg In 1942 you could buy a new car right on Main Street and shop for groceries at the market. In the early 1960s the Chevrolet dealer moved to Guilford where it still exists, the building was demolished and the New Haven Savings Bank mall was constructed in its place. The house to the right was home to the Madison Bakery which still exists in the rear of the same building (follow the blue line!). An addition was added to the front where the Beanery is located. |
