| 129b.01.a.jpg The Airdome Theater, Madison's first movie theater, had no roof hence its name. Pay your 10 cents admission, set your folding chair on the dirt floor and wait for darkness so the movie could begin. If it rained you went home. Currently vacant (2004) it awaits the wrecking crew. In its life it was home to an A & P Market, a variety store, Eleanor Knox clothing store and a pet store. Smaller buildings were added to the right and left sides over the years; the one on the left was most recently the location of Marie's Sweet Shop. |
